Boeny's capital, Mahajanga, was named after the Swahili word Mji Angaia, which means "City of Flowers"; Mji: City, Angaia: Flower. It is the largest city on the west coast and it has a hot and dry climate.

AMADA is an international NGO founded in 2006 in France. It has a close partnership with ADTIA. This association has 3 major missions in the fields of environment, humanitarian aid and integration through touristic activities, helping the hotel in carrying out various projects.

ADTIA, (Association for the Development of Integrated Tourism in Antsanitia) is a rural association founded in 2006 in the coastal region of Antsanitia, in the municipality of Belobaka.
This zone was declared touristic area by the Ministry of Tourism.
ADTIA has signed a partnership agreement with the Hotel Antsanitia Resort.
Meanwhile, ADTIA works in collaboration with AMADA, an international NGL based in France, which makes the implementation of development activities easier.
Its program incites villagers to participate actively in the region’s economic and ecologic life in order to develop sustainable tourism and a fair economy, allowing access to enhanced quality of life.
ADTIA operates in 4 main fields :
• Tourism : In this framework, the first professional training sessions were provided to villagers in hotel and catering services, enabling access to employment within the hotel.
• Environment : awareness-raising
• Education : literacy classes were organized, a classroom has been built (traditional wooden construction) and another classroom was set provisionally.
• Health : A clinic is being built.
